Light ruby red to deep garnet in color. The nose is filled with fresh, wild strawberries, red fruits and a brambly, fresh cut wood quality. Fresh red fruits, like raspberries, strawberries and cherries dominate the mid-palate along with a dose of savory, earthy spice that leads to a firm and edgy finish. The finish is lengthy and mouth coating and will benefit from age or an hour or two in a decanter.
This wine is dark red leaning towards purple in the glass. On the nose, aromas of ripe red and black plums along with dark berries are present, along with notes of dried meats and mocha powder. The wine exhibits medium body with round, velvety tannins and a juicy, mouthwatering finish due to flinty, crisp acidity. This is a wine that will work on practically any occasion, with a wide variety of foods.
Rich and somewhat tropical on the attack and then crisp with lemon zest on the finish, this is an intriguing, complex wine that deserves some good food and some time in the glass.
On the palate the wine is crisp, bright and lifted. It comes across fresh and driven by red fruits, minerality and juicy acidity. The finish is clean and soft and lingers due to a slight dose of stem tannin.
A light, soft and elegant Pinot Noir that shows off the terrific farming the Zotovich family is doing. This is the perfect Pinot Noir to enjoy during the Springtime!
Grown on a steep, rocky slope on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills, this Bentrock Vineyard Pinot Noir exhibits the earthy, crushed stone minerality that we look for in great Pinot Noir.
Pulled from completely neutral barrels, this wine shows off the rich, jammy fruit profile of Shokrian and the lean, earthy profile of the Zotovitch.
It has an expressive nose of blackberries, blueberries and black cherry. Complimenting the fruit are aromas of leather and spice and a woodsy, earthiness from the use of stems. This is rich, earthy, food friendly Syrah at it’s best.
This wine has an inky, dark red to purple color. On the nose, classic dark-skinned fruits like black cherry, plum and black berries mingle with dried meats and leathery earthiness. Stem inclusion is obvious, adding to the spicy/earthy aroma as well as adding a good dose of tannin. On the palate, more of those dark fruits are present wrapped in a rich, velvety swath of tannin. The finish on this wine is very long and I especially love the well-developed integration of fruit, stems and acid, all working in harmony with one another to help it linger on your palate well after you’ve swallowed.
