This wine has a bright, ruby red color. On the nose, earthy, woodsy aromas are joined by red fruits as well as notes of dried meats and mocha powder. The wine exhibits a soft, medium body with velvety tannins and juicy red fruits. There is terrific spice and crushed stone notes that complement the fruit. The finish is mouthwatering and shows off the wonderful acidity that these varietals have when grown in a cool climate. This is a wine that will work on practically any occasion, with a wide variety of foods.
This wine has a glass staining dark ruby red color. The aroma jumps from the glass and is filled with ripe red fruits, cassis, leather and a bit of spicy white pepper. The woodsy aromatics are derived from both a bit of new French oak and the varietals themselves. On the palate the wine is generous but firm with sweet, sappy fruit and savory spice. It’s obvious there was a good deal of tannin here as the wine has great power but a lengthy stay in barrel has softened into to a plush, mouth coating richness. Expect this wine to age well for 15+ years.
