This wine has a rich, dark red color leaning towards purple in the center of the glass. On the nose, earthy, woodsy aromas are joined by dark berries and notes of dried meats and mocha powder. The wine exhibits medium body with velvety tannins and a juicy, mouthwatering finish due to flinty, crisp acidity. This is a wine that will work on practically any occasion, with a wide variety of foods. A blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Mourvédre, 20% Petite Sirah.
This wine is a glass staining dark red to inky purple at the center of the glass. The aroma jumps from the glass and is filled with ripe dark fruits, cassis, leather and a bit of spicy white pepper. The woodsy aromatics, despite spending time only in very old, neutral barrels, is striking. On the palate the wine is generous with sweet, sappy fruit and savory spice. It’s obvious there was a good deal of tannin here but a lengthy stay in barrel has softened into to a plush, mouth coating richness.
