2020 Pinot Noir, Walk Slow

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! We like it when that simple saying is the perfect guiding strategy for a wine. Our Walk Slow Pinot Noir has always been a blend of a couple different vineyards and for the last two years those have been Radian and Spear. We’ve worked with Radian for years and have a good feeling for what kind of wine we will get from there, but it has only been a couple of vintages now that we’ve worked with the Spear vineyard fruit. We are still feeling out the impact of that wine in this blend but have been very happy with the results so far. The Spear has given us a light but intense style of Pinot Noir that has paired perfectly with the darker, sweeter fruit from Radian. Both wines were produced in the same manner…small, 1.5-ton fermenters with 1/3 of the fruit left whole cluster. Gentle daily punch downs and gently pressed to tank followed by a year in neutral French Oak barrels.
