2016 Second Street Cuvée
Santa Barbara County

Our new release of the Second Street Cuvée is a more even blend of Syrah and Grenache than the last few vintages along with a touch of Mourvédre. The fruit hails from a group of vineyards across the County that show off the beautiful, earthy fruit quality Rhone varietals take on in this ideal location. This blend changes from vintage to vintage, depending on what we have in barrel, and I am really liking the evenly matched amounts of Syrah and Grenache we decided on this year. I find it difficult to discern where one varietal ends and the other takes over in this wine. It is a very seamless blend with that touch of Mourvédre adding some distinctive complexity. It will cellar beautifully for a decade or longer but who can wait! This wine screams, "BBQ"!
