2018 Deux Syrah

This is our second version of the Deux Syrah and it follows right in line with the delicious 2016.  From two terrific vineyards (hence the name) planted in ideal Syrah growing areas, the two play beautifully together and the blending of them adds complexity and dimension that neither wine had on it’s own.  The fruit from Zotovich in the Sta. Rita Hills is a favorite of ours and it brings to the table lots of the dark fruit, earth and olive tapenade aroma we love in cool climate Syrah.  The Broken Oak, in Ballard Canyon, brings more of a lush, sweet mouth feel and balances the otherwise leaner structure of the Zotovich.  Add to that a very long four years in barrels  and you’ve got a very lush and balanced wine that delivers clean varietal character and loads of it!
