Santa Ynez Valley
For 2018, we sourced the Grenache from Mesa Verde Vineyard but we made small amounts of Rosé from Syrah and Mourvédre as well. It was both a vintage thing (in that we wanted to bleed some juice off of a couple different lots) and we thought it would be a fun experiment. We made a barrel of each varietal and blended them with the Grenache to make this year’s version. The result is most obvious on the nose of the wine with a little more cherry and berry than the straight up strawberry from years’ past. It remains our favorite “go to” wine for Summer and beyond.
