For 2016 our Syrah from Zotovich Vineyard falls right in line with what we think good cold climate Syrah should be. Dark as can be with a heady aroma of dark fruits and rich earthy spice.
Grown on a steep, rocky slope on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills, this Bentrock Vineyard Pinot Noir exhibits the earthy, crushed stone minerality that we look for in great Pinot Noir.
The 2017 Rosé is light and fresh with juicy citrus and strawberry flavors, followed immediately by crisp, mouthwatering acidity.
This wine is always a blend of a couple of vineyards that we think work well together. It is 70% Bentrock with 30% Babcock rounding it off.
The palate is led by vibrant, mouth-watering acidity, the cornerstone of well-made Albariño, as well as more of that fresh orchard peach flavor. The finish is clean and crisp and begs to be shared with food.
On the palate the wine is crisp, bright and lifted. It comes across fresh and driven by red fruits, minerality and juicy acidity. The finish is clean and soft and lingers due to a slight dose of stem tannin.
The 2015 Second Street holds true to our goal of making a wine that is round and soft and ready for drinking right on release. The wine is full bodied but is well framed by enough juicy acidity to keep it fresh and lively.
Slightly more crisp and racier than in previous vintages, this wine is classic Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay through and through.
